Introduction to flow cytometry

Flow cytometry is a powerful technique for the multi-parametric analysis of individual cells within heterogeneous populations. Our facility currently offers a wide range of flow cytometers, from basic flow cytometers to an advanced spectral flow cytometer capable of distinguishing up to 40 - 50 colors simultaneously. This technology enables rapid analysis (within seconds to minutes) of large numbers of cells (10⁴–10⁶), providing high-resolution insights into complex biological systems

Possible applications

  • Analysis of intra- and extracellular antigens by means of immune fluorescence
  • Cell cycle and DNA ploidy analysis
  • Cell proliferation and cell death detection
