Flow cytometry and single-cell sorting are widely used techniques that enable the simultaneous, multi-parameter analysis and/or isolation of physical and chemical characteristics of individual cells or particles within a heterogeneous sample.
The Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Core Facility of the University of Antwerp (FACSUA) comprising 3 analytical flow cytometers and 1 cell sorter. It provides services and expert support to researchers, facilitating high-quality cell biology, (pre)clinical cellular research and small particle analysis.
In addition, the facility offers educational activities on flow cytometry and its applications across multiple faculties (FGGW, FBD and FWET) and delivers external services based on flow cytometry and cell sorting.
