Wim Van den bergh is research director of SuPAR (Sustainable Pavement and Asphalt Research) and department chair of Civil Engineering Technology. His expertise focuses on developing an integrated asphalt response model, impact of climate change on road structures, sustainable recycling, implementing IT in road construction to optimise quality and sustainability, and innovations such as special mixtures for heavy loads (port and airport). He teaches the subjects Road Engineering and Asphalt Technology and is internationally active in committees, Erasmus programmes and networking.
