Valentin Carlan is since 2014 a researcher at the Department of Transport and Regional Economics at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Antwerp. His research interest includes economics assessment models, cost and benefits quantification methods for innovations, and applications of cost-effectiveness analysis for AI and ML solutions implementation. His Ph.D. dissertation is titled "Costs, benefits and cost-effectiveness of ICT innovation in the maritime supply chain". He carries out research for projects like: SPEED, Smart Ports 2025 and Self-service in logistics.
