Since 2017, Prof. Derammelaere has led motion control research at the University of Antwerp. He is part of the Cosys-Lab group, contributing to its mission on co-design, motion control, and optimization of mechatronic systems, aiming for reusable, industry-relevant results. He is a member of Flanders Make, and serves as associate editor for Discover Mechanical Engineering (Springer). He teaches control engineering and motion optimization, and actively promotes inclusivity and safety in academia.
