Sammy Verbruggen obtained a joint PhD in Bioscience Engineering – Chemistry in 2014 at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ and KU Leuven. Since 2019 he is a fulltime professor at the department of Bioscience Engineering at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ. He leads a research team on photo(electro)catalysis for various energy and environmental applications, such as the production of hydrogen gas, air purification, sensors, and self-cleaning materials.
