Save the Date – 11, 12, 13 January 2027 Conference on Decolonial Legal Methods

Description

We are delighted to share with you the Save-the-Date for the Conference on Decolonial Legal Methods (DLMs) that will take place on 11, 12 and 13 January 2027 (see attached).

Based on a book to be published in 2027, the purpose of the conference is to answer the following question: Can we, as legal researchers, law lecturers, lawyers, judges, and members of NGOs who mobilise law from within Europe, imagine ways of carrying out our work in a decolonial manner? The conference will be followed by a blog where answers to these questions will be made available to all and subject to further developments and evolutions.

Dr. Sandrine Brachotte is co-organizing this conference together with Lina Álvarez Villareal and Christine Frison, with the support of Professor Thalia Kruger.

The conference is intended as a space for exchange bringing together not only legal and social science scholars, but also students, legal practitioners, members of NGOs and collectives, and more broadly, anyone interested in these conversations.
