The Antwerp Center for Translational Immunology and Virology (ACTIV) is part of the Vaccine & Infectious Disease Institute (VAXINFECTIO) at the University of Antwerp.
Within ACTIV we start from a clinical context (i.e. diseases, problems, challenges) and use a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary approach to
- obtain a better understanding of the underlying pathophysiology
- in order to improve diagnostics, risk stratification and therapeutics
In collaboration with several close (national and international) collaborators we focus on
- (paediatric) rheumatology
- predictive immunosequencing in vaccinology and infectious diseases
- varicella-zoster virus (chickenpox & herpes zoster)
We work closely together with the Antwerp Unit for Data Analysis and Computation in Immunology and Sequencing (AUDACIS).
