Students in need
Continuing education is a major investment for students; not only is it a crucial step for their professional career, future and self-development, but also financially it has a huge impact.
¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµing comes at a high cost: tuition fees, course materials, a computer, groceries, the rent of a student room, etc... Theses expenses can add up quickly while a student's personal situation not always allow them to cover all costs. This is often related to unexpected crisis situations, suc as illness (of a parent) or suddingly having to cope on one's own. The geopolitical situation can also play a role, leading to higher expenses.
The University Fund Antwerp and the Social Services of the University of Antwerp work together to support students in financial need. Every contribution to Students in Need goes directly to a student who needs support and who can then use it for groceries, rent, the purchase of books or other essential materials.
War and conflict: support for international students
The University of Antwerp is home to many international students with great dreams and ambitions. For some of them, reality has changed drastically. Students from countries affected by war and instability are seeing their financial situation deteriorate rapidly. Money transfers come to a halt, family support dries up, and uncertainty grows day by day.That is why we are launching an urgent . Through this initiative, we directly support these international students and provide them with the breathing space they so urgently need. Every contribution, large or small, helps cover study-related costs and gives them the opportunity to continue their education.

As a student at the University of Antwerp, you are not alone when facing financial difficulties. You can always turn to the Social Services or contact them via socialedienst@uantwerpen.be. The Social Services assess, on a case-by-case basis, which types of support may be available for your specific situation.
