Bruna Gomes Maia is a voluntary PhD researcher in the Government and Law Research Group, supervised by Esther van Zimmeren and Sacha Bourgeois-Gironde (Université Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas). She holds a Master’s degree from the University of Bristol and is currently preparing her doctoral thesis entitled “A Regional Access and Benefit-Sharing Framework for the Amazon Biome: Compliance and Trust in the Governance of Transboundary Genetic Resources in a Biodiverse Hotspot.â€
Bruna has been a qualified lawyer since 2011, following her admission to the Brazilian Bar. Alongside her academic research, she works as a legal consultant for a Belgian company, specialising in Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS) regulations.
